- Give by reading to a child or two!
- Give by donating books or your time at your local or school library!
- Give by modeling your own reading to your children or grandchildren. Sometimes we only read when they are asleep and they don’t see our LOVE of reading!
Give by donating to our Teacher Scholarship Fund.
Something you may not know about PLL is that while our projects are funded through grants and contracts, the Scholarship fund relies on donations. Every donation for Giving Tuesday will go directly to support the PLL Teacher Scholarship fund. We offer scholarships for teachers who have no professional development funds to attend PLL events at no cost to them or their school. We believe in the idea of teacher growth and learning. Your gift will allow teachers to learn more, provide best instruction for students, and ultimately help all students be better readers, writers, and critical thinkers. Thank you!
Strong Literacy Teachers = Strong Literate Students = Strong Communities
“…With school budgets being tighter and more restrictions on how teachers and professional staff can use their allotted PD monies, having the support of a PLL scholarship makes all the difference. Personally, I would not be able to attend this PLL conference if it were not for the support of a scholarship. The financial burden of paying “out-of-pocket” is a reality for myself and many others. I am grateful to PLL for giving me this opportunity and am excited to share my learning with colleagues in order to support the literacy learning in our school.” – Rebecca Cardone, Fairfax Elementary School
